In general, the most common type of tooth extraction involves wisdom teeth. Wisdom teeth frequently cause problems as they are trying to push their way through the gums. When a wisdom tooth is impacted, it means the tooth is coming in at an angle and not straight through the gum line the way that most teeth do. This can cause a variety of issues, including pain, infection, and tooth misalignment.
Extractions can range from the removing a single tooth to removing all four wisdom teeth at once, and the type of anesthesia used depends on how far out of the gums the teeth are and a patient’s personal preference.
In addition, we regularly complete routine extractions as needed, taking care to prioritize your comfort at all times. For more information about the procedure and care afterwards, please reach out to us!
